“What is it about the cooler weather? Makes me want to eat soup for breakfast lunch and dinner, clean every inch of every corner in every room, curl up with the kids and a board game in front of the first fire of autumn - and paint all my old things with fresh new colors.” - via robot·jumping·rope. *sigh* it is 95 degrees today.
me too me too…. Thus my plan to go north next month. Please keep your fingers crossed for my plan. :)
I’m right there with you! I always get a little frustrated and depressed this time of year because I’m stuck in the muck of Texas. I miss fall. And winter. And spring.
We woke up to a cold house last Saturday and immediately I was all, “must make chili and chicken stock and marinara!” And I did, and now I have a full freezer. Kind of like a squirrel, I guess.
falwyn - go NORTH! go NORTH! Maybe I need to go North too. hmmmmmmm
Katrine - I keep wishing for a white Christmas, but the best we get is some kind of grey slush. heh heh OH! And ice. We often get that lovely BLACK ice.
Meg - Oh sure, rub it in!
Well, I am up north here in Minnesota. We have been having nice cool fall weather until yesterday when it was back in the 90’s and humid as heck again. The thing we say about Minnesota is that you can never count on the weather. It bounces all over the place, but my favorite times of year are by far spring and fall-nice middle of the road not too hot, not too cold weather.
Hee hee! Sorry y’all, I’m in Maryland outside of DC, and our nights are cool right now. Finally… it was so hot even at night for all of August.
I shall think of you each time I make chicken soup from my homemade stock this winter! :-)

That was for MEG by the way …
Cooler weather posts make me angry, as my kid would say. I’m so tired of sweating outside. And mosquitoes. And humidity.
Even with colder weather I don’t do that. That many projects takes too much time and concentration for this lazy gal. Although I will admit to lounging in front of the fire in the wood stove while wearing pajamas at 3pm when it’s 10* out… Or planning on going down to the pantry to just sit and admire my canning… But that means I need to reorganize it so there is an actual place to sit. *sigh*
