A 7 year old boy was removed from his father for mistakingly ordering a “hard” lemonade for his son. This is insane. Seriously. Way to wait for an explanation by the father.

you are not kidding!!! this is such an absolutely insane story - a local radio station raised $200 today based on the number of adults in their listening audience who did not know that Mike’s Lemonade had alcohol in it…
Some people! I swear! They need to “chill”. I’ve tasted Mike’s Hard Lemonade and, well, it tastes lemony. I didn’t know it had alcohol until someone told me. My kids drink wine every Sunday at Mass. OMG! angie
That’s so awful! How was the dad supposed to know?! I don’t drink and once a friend left a couple of bottles of what I thought was apple cider at our house. I brought it to work the next day. It was only when I opened it and put it to my mouth that I smelled it and realized there was alcohol in it.
And authorities are so slow to go after criminals who steal our identities. Awesome.
Wow! Isn’t it amazing? So many people find themselves caught up in these nightmares, yet you consistently hear stories of the parents CPS does visit after visit after visit with, does not intervene despite phone calls of concern, and then the kid ends up in the hospital–or the grave.
Years and years ago, when my oldest was one, a very evil doctor called in a false report of child endaring on me. This doctore did not know me or my child. When I returned home after taking my child to the ER to be checked out, (having left the evil Dr.’s), there was an APB taped to my door. Fortunately, in this case, CSP got to me first, and even more fortunately, the case worker had a head on his shoulders and was an intelligent person. I still get chills however, when I remember that I was told if the police had gotten back to my apartment first, they would have taken my baby, and it would have been a minimum of 30 days before I could have gotten him back. Unfortunately, the doctor who filed the false report was protected by “good samaritan” laws, and we had no recourse. Hopefully, this little boy suffers no long term emotional trauma. I have a 7 year old, and I think he would after being ripped away from his family and all that is familiar.
This is totally insane. I know what it is but only because my little brother drinks it. When I first saw it I thought it was just any other drink. I think we have our priorities out of whack when something like this happens and there are adults taping children fighting get off with nothing.
I saw that the other day on, I think, the Today Show? Just crazy. I think of my Italian grandfather, who played this little “joke” on all his grandkids sooner or later, pouring us a glass of “grape juice” that turned out to be wine. Glad no one was around to see that, except my dad who thought it was hilarious.
I work in a field where children are often being raised by incompetent parents, suffer from various forms of neglect, are exposed to domestic violence and drug abuse, etc. I’ve called CPS on numerous families that I work with and time after time the children remain with their parents, even if it’s not in their best interest. To have a child removed that quickly after ONE incident seems absurd to me. I’ve spent years compiling evidence to get children removed from negligent and abusive parents to no avail. This article is horrible. That poor child.
I agree with you.
That is totally stupid. The system leaves in-danger kids with their parents and takes away this kid?
Stupid.
