WORDPRESS, WEB DESIGN, AND BLAH, BLAH, BLAH…

The first of many Structured Homeschooler posts…

Letter Tiles

You guys can catch me today over at The Pioneer Woman’s Homeschool blog.

My coming out post: The Unstructured Homeschooler: Letter’em Liberally

**********
Thanks to all who responded to yesterday’s post about the Showtime sitcom, Weeds.

I’ve considered drawing out discussion on some of the thoughts presented in the comments in another post, not to refute or debate – but to discuss more thoroughly. Then, I read back through them again and felt that everyone who spoke out did so in a way that didn’t need further clarification.

A few others emailed to ask if I’d be talking politics next. Errrm…nope. First, because I’m not happy with my choices this election. Second, because I’m not happy with my choices this election. And third, because I’m not happy with my choices this election.

I never thought of myself as politically Independent before.
Probably pencil in Mr. OMSH.

I’m a huge fan of the pioneer woman’s site so I was happy to see you guest posting there (which is how I found your site, btw). I love the idea of these letters – where can you buy them?
thanks,
tabitha @ http://www.fromsingletomarried.com

It was so funny when I saw your post and the post at Pioneer Woman in my Google Reader. At first I thought, “Wow, that is some coincidence!”

These are so cool! My kids are too old for them, but just looking at them makes me want to dig in and start creating words and sentences.

Great post over at tPW.

Um, unless you moved states, I believe the Democrat and Republican main candidates shouldn’t even be on your ballot because they didn’t get the paperwork in on time. Until they break laws and such to do it, but still. At least that was the last I heard. But we’re still Ron Paul fans in this house, so there you go. :)

Anna

I stopped in here from PW. We homeschool and also use Sonlight for portions and then we do some unschooliness and whatnot. ;) We make it work for us. I like these little letter guys and need to pick up some more myself! I have enjoyed going through your blog!

I’m voting for my grandson..somewhere in history there will be written down that a 18month old ran for president.

and yes I am totally mocking the system.
the system really deserves it this time.

Are you a game playing family? I love the way Scrabble tiles feel. These look like they have a larger face but are thinner. Either way a choking hazard around here still, but something to bookmark and keep in mind.

You know, I think all parents who are truly present are unschoolers. That’s just what parenting is. Homeschooling consciously just takes it a step further and the more I think about it the more sane it seems.

Cindy

I’m leaning toward homeschooling next year and would like to know if you recommend Sonlight. I assume that you do since you are using it but are you happy with it? There are so many curriculums out there, its overwhelming! I’d appreciate any thoughts on it, pro or con, from you or your readers. Thanks so much!
