SHE WON! SHE WON!It says so here! Thanks for all who voted – I’ll be sure to post links as she posts reviews!
*************************************************************************************
In early October Emelie found out about the So You Wanna Be a DogEared Blogger contest over at National Geographic Kids online. To enter she had to read a children’s fiction chapter book and write a review of no more than 250 words. It sounds easy, right? Reading the book? EASY. Writing a review of 250 words or less took a few rewrites for my li’l wordsmith.

But she did it – and we mailed it in and marked the calendar for November 30, the end date for the first phase of the contest. All day on the 30th we kept refreshing the contest page, but it was an unanticipated, and warmly welcomed, phone call from National Geographic that let Emelie know she made the top 10.

The poor woman who called received an earful as we danced, bounced and shrieked about the kitchen; the squeals were *ahem* abundant.

And now, we are in the final two days of the voting phase of this contest and begging requesting your assistance. In order for Emelie to get to blog for National Geographic Kids for 3 months she has to be in the top 3 of this voting phase; which means EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

We’ve been voting once a day and asking everyone we know to vote once a day. I have Facebooked it, Bethany kindly committed a post at her blog to Vote for Emelie, Brenda put it up under her delightful I Spy With My Little Eye sideblog, and we have spammed friends and family in email.

GO HERE TO VOTE FOR EMELIE

And now we ask you, if you would like to support Emelie, to go and Vote for Emelie, 12, Dizzy in the right sidebar at National Geographic Kids online. If you’d like to actually READ her review, it is in the body of the post on the left; she read the book Dizzy and her review is the third from the top.

Contest ends on the 10th. You can vote once for every 24 hours.

Thank you!
We’ll keep everyone updated on whether or not she gets the gig.
