Scentsy makes sense.

Here and there I have requests from readers to review their products. I don’t, at this time, accept monies for reviews, but it is also understood that once I agree to reviewing a product - it is MY review. I own it and I will review it according to my experience with the product.

That said, I think it takes guts to ship me a product to review. And Angela Tippets, a momma blogger over at I Will Bloom and a Star Consultant for the Scentsy Wickless Candles was sure enough of her product line that she decided it was worth the risk. Come to think of it, she shouldn’t be selling them if she wasn’t THAT sure, so hey, that’s something in her favor already.

I was given a link to select the Scentsy Warmer of my choice and three different Scentsy Fragrances. It took me nearly a day to decide which warmer I wanted - there are quite a few different styles and colors available. I chose the True Red Scentsy Warmer

True Red Scentsy Warmer

…and because I’m not a fan of floral scents and didn’t want anything too sweet or too heavy, I selected the three Scentsy Fragrances I thought I wanted. Having already talked to Angela about the kinds of fragrances I didn’t like, she made a suggestion that I stay away from one of my first choices and gave me a few alternatives I might like better.

Of the Fragrances listed, I chose Clean Breeze, Lemon Lavendar and Sunkissed Citrus; all of which sounded like they’d be a clear, lightweight lilt of aroma for my home in the summer.

Scentsy Fragrances

There were many Scentsy fragrances I might have selected in a different season. Pumpkin and Cinnamon are two of my favorite scents for Christmas and Thanksgiving, but for the summer months I wanted something clean, fresh and happy.

Angela placed my order and 2 weeks later the boxes were on my doorstep. Everything came packaged well, but I have to give this company kudos for how they pack their bars/bricks of wax. I live in the southern part of Texas and I know you guys have heard me complain about the heat. I half expected a gloopy mess, but the wax was shipped in a sort of ziplock refrigerated bag with an ice pack that was STILL COLD when I opened it.

So.very.smart.

I kept the bag - I just know I’ll need to mail something cold SOMEWHERE, right?

Emelie and I unpacked the warmer and saw it wasn’t a candle that would warm the wax, but a single light bulb; I was intrigued (It is also proof I didn’t pay much attention to the description on the website - oops!). The Scentsy Warmers melt wax at a lower temperature than typical warmers - which gave me more placement options around the house. Without the worry of one of my kids or pets getting burned, if they should knock it over or touch it, I could venture outside of the kitchen or my bedroom. Someone with children must have come up with the design. That information is probably at the website too…I should go back and read it.

Sunkissed Citrus Scentsy Brick

The Scentsy Bars or bricks are easily separable; using my fingers I was able to tear one off from the brick to put in the top of the warmer. I didn’t want the scent to overpower our small home, so I only used one square and I STILL have only used one square - these things go a loooong way.

Scentsy Fragrances come in these soft bricks.

The website said that the Scentsy Bars are potent and can hold more fragrance oil than most 12 oz. jarred candles; that sounded a bit far-fetched, but I’m tellin’ ya - it is still burning and my house still smells like it was sunkissed by a citrus (which is far better than it smelling like it was slobberkissed by Bruno).

For not being a huge candle fan, I’m impressed. If you are interested, contact Angela Tippets; her email is: scentnupcinci@yahoo.com. If you’d just like to peruse the choices available, you can either view everything on the Scentsy website or download the .pdf catalog like I did (Download the catalog by clicking on “View Catalog” on the top horizontal navigation bar.).

And? If you have a product you’d like reviewed, just remember - no promises; I call it like I see it. Or? As was the case here, as I smell it.

That rules! I live in an OLD wood frame house. It’s super dry, which is nice in humid Florida, but I am too scared that I will burn the house down if I light a candle. This sounds like a great alternative! Thanks Heather!!

  2. Angela Tippets

WOW!! I love, Love, L.O.V.E the photos of the warmer. I’m glad you are enjoying your Scentsy, that is why I am selling them ;) Oh, by the way, I have a new blog at http://www.authenticwicklesscandles.blogspot.com Thanks for the wonderful review (of course I am a bit partial, and I never was a candle lover either UNTIL Scentsy came along) You can go on my new blog for that story. Anyway, thanks again!! You are WONDERFUL!

    OH YEAH,
I also have another small package coming for you. It contains all the stuff I typically give you when I package up your product. (catalog, how to take care of your Scentsy warmer, business cards and a car candle) If you live far away, then I mail this stuff to you. enjoy and thanks again!

I too, must confess, that I think the world of this burner/candle/scent-thingy. It’s not too girly, OMSh picked perfect scents/flavors, and I think it is safe as well. I really think the packaging of the ‘cubes’ is cool too. And the cooler-packaging looks like something off off Apollo 13. You know, NASA, space-age polymer…? Pretty cool.

Thanks Angela from the male side of the house.

These rock! I Love the whole concept, including the light bulb, rather than a candle flame. I will be looking at these for Christmas gifts!!

  6. Octamom

I’ll have to check this out–with all the small people in this house, I’ve had to put candles and the like on sabbatical–but this just might fill the void!

Glad you are feeling so much better!

  7. LisaAnniePants

    I LOVE my scentsy!
Just for future reference (lol) my all time favorite scent is “Home Sweet Home”. Right now I am loving “Orange Dreamsicle” “Skinny Dippin” and “Fried Ice Cream”.

  8. Suzy

I have a Scentsy too. It was a gift from my sister who also has one. I love it! Right now I am rocking the Vanilla Cinnamon. It scents the whole house…like 1500 square feet! And the warmers are cute and really add a whimsical kick to your decor. So glad you got one Heather!

  9. Bobbie in Alaska!

I love Scentsy! I have been using the warmer and bars for about two years. I have given them as gifts to my Mom and best friends. The car candles are great too. Right now I have Sangria in my home and Snowberry in my car. Great topic!

  10. mary

I’ve never heard of this before, but it sounds pretty cool! I’ll have to check it out.

  11. Nicole

I am currently warming havana cabana - it is yummy! I LOVE scentsy!!!

  12. jess

i loooove the scentsy. i adore the car candles, too. they aren’t a real candle, so i think the name is pretty lame, but whatever.

i see someone else already said this, but the home sweet home is the best. AND the red delicious apple, too.

  13. ashley

i ADORE my scentsy … and can’t wait to unpack it when i am back in slc. i love being able to switch and reuse the scents, too. just pour the hot wax back into the case, clean off the warmer and you’re back in business! ahhh, to come home to a house filled with citrus again …
