Besides the fact that all forms of organization makes me want to swoon, when you merge the words closets and guru into the same URL...I am SO THERE.

If you’ve ever stayed up late wondering what $.25 can buy you at a garage sale, let me ease your mind and show you…
So instead of getting up, strapping on your fanny pack and hitting the garage sales…pull those covers up over your head, ignore the sun shining in your window and stay cuddled into that “perfect spot” that you only find about 5 minutes before you realize you need to pee worse than you’ve ever needed to pee in your life. Don’tcha just hate that?
I do.
Emelie found that contraption while at her Gram and Poppy’s in Missouri. It was a neighborhood “block” garage sale. I’m hoping they boiled the straws before she placed them in her mouth.
Ewwwww!
Ah, my Emelie - she’s quite a character. And? She’s quite the sweetie too. She spent hours yesterday preparing my birthday cake. She did it all herself - the mixing and baking of the cake, and then while it cooled, mixing the ingredients for our favorite butter cream icing and getting it that perfect “orange” she wanted.
I think she did beautifully considering her time constraint AND that she was trying to hide it from me (not an easy task in this wee li’l home of ours). She’s not as happy with it as she’s been with her other cakes, but I assure you, the rest of us reveled in it. German chocolate cake topped with butter cream icing and a few dips of Mint Chocolate Chip Blue Bell ice cream put smiles on ALL our faces.
Oh, and I got ONE candle.
Just one.
And I blew it out ALL BY MY LONESOME.
No, I’m not telling you my wish…stop asking already!
Of course Emelie wasn’t the only one that put their hands into the birthday efforts. Meredith designed and strung together a necklace for me.
She “clasped it” tightly with a knot behind my neck. Unless I want to cut it off me, I’ll be wearing it for a while.
And a birthday wouldn’t be complete without my very own Superhero Ship.
Thank you Kenny.
Of course, Mr. OMSH took care of my birthday a couple of weeks ago, right before he promptly fell asleep. He does that a lot you know. In fact, he’s doing that now. And I think I just might join him.
Until tomorrow!
Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes yesterday!

Umm, is it just me, or does Emilie look about 22 in that photo? I didn’t recognise her and would still be point blank refusing to believe it is her, were it not for the glasses…
Glad you had a lovely loved birthday with sweet gifties. (I’m always jealous of your fingers when you post a photo with your hand in it, you have very dainty fingers, and I have a fistful of sausages. Where is the justice?)
Happy belated birthday! Yesterday (the 17th) was my b-day! It was the 10th anniversary of my 29th birthday. I got taken out for breakfast and dinner. Any meal I don’t have to cook is a good meal!
Your cake looks yummy! What a sweet daughter to make it for you.
Your kids are great. I love your new necklace!
Happy Belated birthday! How wonderful are your children to put forth such effort in honor of your day!
You got to love our Missouri garage sales!

Fun! I love me some garage sale shopping finds.
That cake looks yummy. I’ve requested cheesecake for my birthday next month. We’ll see if that happens. :)

I’m so glad it was a great birthday!
Spoiled rotten, you are!

Happy birthday! And what great gifts - especially the cake! Here is the Father’s Day cake we made this past weekend … decorated by Tau (2 1/2) and his four-year-old cuz Kai: http://www.flickr.com/photos/daveandsue/2585603793/in/set-72157605653087782/
WHOA!!! Man, those OMSH kids sure are talented! Emelie’s cake is AWESOME, and that necklace is so precious and Kenny…. dude, he even had the birthday bunting on there!
So cool :-)
Beer bong … who would have thought? Emelie, may I borrow that next time I’m mowing Poppa Buddy’s yard on his riding mower? Wonder how many acres to the beer ….
Mrs. OMSH your birthdays are my birthdays, don’t forget. Every year you’re older, I’m older. But sure am glad to celebrate each and every one with you. You are still my Princess and always will be.
Happy Birthday! Your cake looked great!
Mmmm… Blue Bell. Just moved back to Texas after a five year absence, and I am so glad to have Blue Bell back!
I really should get out more.
Happy Birthday!
I love homemade children’s gifts… they put all the love in them, don’t they.
