Kenny and Meredith share a room. A room with two beds - two twin beds. Lately, it seems that sleeping in their own beds is just not “close” enough. Both of them are impossible to sleep with. For one, they sleep with a lot of “things” and next, they sleep ALL OVER the bed. I co-slept with both of them; I should know.
In this one twin bed there were about 15 stuffed animals, 5 to 6 books, wrinkled, unfolded stacks of recently cleaned and folded clothes, 2 to 4 pillows, 2 quilts, 1 comforter, and I’m still looking, but I’m quite certain a Nintendo DS, Leapster, and a couple of markers.
They are absolutely content and comfortable.
Of course, at some point early this morning Kenny found his way to our bed to cuddle and he was still there at 10:45 - which is atypical for a boy who usually wakes around 6:45. Seriously, we find him quietly playing Legos™ in the living room in the dark.
I can’t get enough of these sleepin’ shots; I’ll probably have hundreds of them before he moves into manhood.

gorgeous sleeping babes :)
aw! I sneak into my girls’ room just to stare at them while they’re sleeping. Probably creepy, but I love it.
Too cute! Little Miss tends (okay; tended) to have her bed stacked with tou-tous (French for stuffed animals). Since we’ve been moving so much, and dealing with so much, they have been moved to garbage bags stacked in the basement. She’s not missing them… I hope she’s not growing out of that stage :)
I love the early morning wakeups where she’ll be quietly playing silly games. I just love those times so deeply, wanting to tuck them into my pocket!
Ah, so sweet that Kenny & Mer curl up and go to sleep together. And what a sleepyhead Kenny was this morning? Growth spurt maybe?
I love me some sleeping shots of my boys too.
Sweet!
10:45?? Oh my. Maybe he and M were up all night in that lovefest?
5:30am comes awfully early around here.
I’m into taking sleeping pictures of my kids, too. Love ‘em!
Have you seen the Sarah Boynton book “Snoozers”? We like to snooze horizontal, we like to snooze upside down. We like to snooze, wherever we choose, snoozing around the town! (Brilliant little rhymes in that book.)
We have snoozers at our house, too… and I have about 900 thousand snaps of them so far. Drat the digital camera.
Maybe it’s because sleeping is one of the few times my kids actually Hold Still?
