The end of Kenny’s first semester of Pre-K has come. There were times I was certain we would wait one more year for school, but the boy surprised me by adjusting to the change fabulously. And now? He loves school.
Today Kenny’s class hosted a Christmas Singing Presentation as a gift to the parents and then, had their party. Of course, parties are NOT parties without your party hat mask.
The singing was both hysterical and precious; the stuff that makes your heart go smooooooosh. Here they are singing, “Oh come let us adore Him…Christ, the Lord.”
See that girl at Kenny’s left? He’s a bit sweet on her. Yes, the one in the shiny pink dress. Or as Kenny said, “In the pink Santa dress.” Though last I checked, Santa didn’t wear a dress.
His words on the way home?
“Momma, she’s adorable AAAAND she’s cute too.”
You know at age 5 (today’s his birthday, by the way) boys are still free enough with their emotions to express them openly without shame or embarrassment. His sisters were gigglin’ in the back of the ‘burban, but if you look at their expressions you’ll know it tickles them to the bone that he’s so sweet.
I was really impressed with the number of songs and hand motions the class learned. And most of all, that they were all having such a good time doing it. Okay, there were a couple who looked like they might just wet their pants, but the majority of them were true performers.
I watched as this little girl and Kenny exchanged little smirks at each other and giggled through their songs.
“Kenny, what were you and Montana giggling about?”
He told me he didn’t know and had asked her why she was laughing.
“What did she say?”
“She was nervous.” he told me.
“She said she was ‘nervous’?” I asked him - curious if that was his phrasing or hers.
“No, she said she was scared.”
Apparently he was setting her at ease by being a TOTAL AND COMPLETE HAM!
And then, after the singing? He went from HAM to MAN in a matter of seconds, putting aside all socializing to EAT. One must keep their priorities in check after all.

Happy Birthday Kenny!
Adorable!!! I hope I’ll look 1/10th as cute in my red Ms. Santa dress.
I love how this guy is surrounded by all the ladies. Happy Birthday, Kenny!
What a ham!
And the santa dress! LOL! Isn’t is funny what kids come up with? I’m sure it was the furry cuffs and trim to the skirt that had him thinking it was like Santa’s outfit.
You have such a knack for storytelling!
What a treat!

Happy birthday! Cute pics!
Happy Birthday, Kenny. It’s my birthday today, too! What a great day to have been born!
Happy birthday to the birthday boy! My older boy says that girls are gross and that he is never going to have a girlfriend or get married. Yet, yesterday he was giggling with the little girl sitting next to him in assembly. I just smile and nod, smile and nod…
Okay, it’s even scarier. My baby boy just turned 5 last Sunday (the 16th). Maybe that’s why the seem so much alike!
Awesome pics…he’s “adorable aaannnd cute too” also!

Happy Belated B-day to Kenny!
And I know a little girl who’s going to get a pink Santa dress. As soon as she can stand, ya know. Too cute. Especially if it attracts the right kind of boy. ;-)
