I have to tell ya, as much as I hate it when my Dad is out of town, I love the zingers he catches on his camera and sends me. My day is filled with shots of bright, blue-eyed children and he’s snapping shots of church marquees, street signs and now, restrooms.
Of course the photos wouldn’t be half as funny without his brief captions that come along with them.
For instance, today’s photo - straight from the end of a pier on Lake Michigan (just south of Holland, Michigan), he caught this one.
His comment?
Takes a southern boy a bit of time to understand the difference
between “men’s” and “lady’s” restrooms up here, but I figured it out.Love you … Dad
Yep, that’s class with a capital ‘K’ folks!
I feel such a kinship with the redneck Yankees who painted these doors!

Being familiar with the Lake Michigan shore towns, this is right up my nostalgic alley. Things are pretty conservative in Michigan but at the shore it’s pretty much whatever rocks your boat. Nice to see evidence of those Michiganders (of which I am natively one) loosen up a bit.

This is too funny. Many moons ago, DH was watching over Emily and she needed to go to the restroom where there was none. Knowing that she would pee on herself if she squatted, he held her in a sitting position behind a tree. When she was done, and with no toilet tissue to wipe with, she told him, “It’s okay. I can just wiggle.”
ROFL. To this day I have no clue where she got that from, but I see now that it’s a common thing.
