i rise to everyday.
My mother-in-law sent this to Jeff and Kenny, but I've already played it 3 times with a high sherry count and I can't stop laughing. Oh my, people...don't drink and hunt; that's all I gotta say.

This may be boring the stink right out of y’all, but I’m cracking up that this box has lasted so long.
Taken around midnight-ish…this would be their 2nd night to sleep in the box.
Is anything else going on around here? Other than procrastinating unpacking the suitcase in the middle of my bedroom floor and doing laundry? Nah…

Are you kidding? When I was a kid, my dad brought home a 3 ft x 8 ft wooden crate … we had him drag that thing into the garden and my brother and I (and half the neighborhood) ate, slept and played in it on and off for YEARS! Years, I tell you!
I have to say I am super impressed that they made it as well. To be that young and able to sleep in such “interesting” ways without being a mess in the morning ;)
That is pretty much the coolest thing ever. I remember days and days of fun when we had big boxes like that growing up. =)
Oh how cute! I miss the days of being a kid and sleeping in boxes! I think if I brought home a box and tried to nap inside of it, it would either break or my husband would have me comitted!
Stop it. They are too. darn. cute.
They are, like, way too freaking cute!! My sister and I used to do the same kind of things when we were little. How sweet!
Hi OMSH! I found your site through The Pioneer Woman. Your kids are too cute! My two youngest would be in that box so fast!
I love it. They’re like little, warm, soft puppies. We have a huge box in our playroom right now. It hasn’t occurred to my guys yet to use it for a bed.
Clicking off the photo quickly…
So Sweet.
Oh, I love her hand laying so lovingly on K’s bare shoulder!
Two thoughts:
1. the box is a womb with a Bugh.
2. perhaps is takes them back to their fetus-days…all nustled up, jabbing each other with elbows and knees.
I just LOVE their creativity! It runs in their genes.
I once tried to move into the linen closet under the stairs, long before Harry Potter became fashionable. I totally understand the fun of sleeping in a box. This past winter, we met some new friends, and I knew right away they were going to be a good fit, because the small sitting room off their front door was taken entirely over by a packing-box castle, which stayed up (and grew) for about three months.
Mr. OMSH, that is a really, really dreadful pun.
And Madame OMSH, my 3yo is after me to print out a “happy monsters” page to color again. :)
Hi~
Made my way over from Pioneer Woman. You, my dear, are very talented!
That picture is priceless! Look how cute they are all snuggled up. Precious!
My kids just made a huge fort last week and slept in it as well - I blogged about the fort - not the sleeping in it part though. :)
Oh, and my boys loved your snake posts - especially where the snake’s head got cut off - they liked that part the best! I’m so, so glad you werent’ hurt and equally glad one of your kids didn’t find it first. Guardian Angels working overtime, that’s for sure.
Great weekend to you!
Looks like an adorable pile o’ puppies!
Blessings!
SO much fun!!! I loved to sleep anywhere but my bed when I was a kid. A box is PARADISE!
That is ridiculously CUTE!
There is nothing more fun than your own cardboard box, my son would love it too!
Thanks for sharing the adorable photos.
LOL! The box has lasted longer than my son and his hammock. We put the mattress back on his floor this morning. Great pics! love your blog! ang
As a kid, my friend Adam and I discovered that with the bed pulled out of his sleeper sofa, there was a huge empty space in the sofa frame. Accessible by pushing past the mattress and seatback cushions. We ate, slept, reconn’d, and plotted in that fort, ahem sofa.
Why do kids love boxes and hideouts? Why DON’T adults is a better question.
