Entries are in – now we need your votes!
The entries are in and now it is time for you, my ever-so-lovely (and perhaps slightly cursed) readership to cast your votes. That is right YOU are the judges in the True Roadside Emergency Story Contest.
The polls will be open one full week – until midnight (CST) May 23, 2007. I’ll make a little banner in the sidebar so you and others can find it easily once it drops off the page. And I’ll post reminders too … y’know, b/c I’m annoying like that.
The weiners winners will be announced based on the poll results. The prize for each category is one (1) Safety Girl Emergency Roadside Kit. Prizes will be mailed directly from Safety Girl within 48 hours of the polls’ close.
Voting time is up!
You can view results for all three categories here.
Thanks for playing!
Y’all come back now y’here?

14 have spoken up.

My maroon (nasty purple)Grand Voyager is constantly sitting on the side of the road for some stupid reason. In fact right now it need to have the following issues addressed: the winshield wipers stop for no apparent reason, the passenger window will roll down but not up,(just had the same problem fixed on the drivers side, power door lock will not unlock on the drivers door, and the airbag light just came on. According to the service guy, that just means the airbag may not deploy if I’m in an accident.Already I have had the transmission replaced, belt systems rebuilt ( it fell off everytime it rained leaving me sitting on the side of the road, Some type of relay switch systme replaced. I’m holding a lottery to see who gets to blow this one up. Loved everyones story’s. Somedays I just want a reliable horse.

I’m not sure I want to watch a little vote counter tell me how unpopular and pathetic I am! But then, I didn’t even vote for my story. Mogavina had me beat and earned my vote.
This is such a fun idea!
OMSH
Holley – dang girl…sounds like that one is about ready to give up the ghost.
Ah Jill, you aren’t pathetic. You just didn’t get naked or were stranded with a child in the car. You know how we LOOOOVE drama! HAAHAHAHA
Katie
I think that even if there were other entries in the free form category, Chris would still win. That haiku is hilarious!
OMSH
I agree Katie – that was stinkin’ hysterical.

I going to have to think harder next time. I didn’t enter because I honestly couldn’t remember a real roadside emergency. Then I started reading. Gee, I’ve had a car catch on fire while driving, and had tread come off my tire and dislodge cables so that I couldn’t signal, and why didn’t my dad and I take a photo of the rattler that we ran over? I didn’t remember one of these until I started reading stories.
Oh, and I totally thought that the Allstate ad that talks about multi-tasking and shows a man putting on his pants was made up. Now I know it just happened in Utah *where it is legal*!
Thanks for thinking up the contest Heather and thanks for sharing. It was fun to read and vote!

OMSH: Nakedness, huh? I’m going to incorporate nudity into my life more often now. You never know when I may need a story and that little bit of flesh will give me an edge!
Chris
Love the stories! Love the contest – it’s nice to take some bad situations and make light of them. It’s important to be able to do that sometimes.
Thanks for the compliments- wish more people had gotten goofy too. I feel like the joker at the back of the class.
OMSH
Jill – nakedness always works … ask Kerflop
KYouell – hey! You’re welcome. I’ll have giveaways off and on … though my budget can’t handle monthly, I don’t think.
Chris – class clown! class clown!

If only the bruised butt story could have been incorporated you may have had that edge :-D
