Oooh! Mr. OMSH!

2nd OMSH Coloring Un-Contest

It has been too long since our last Color Contest for kiddos here in OMSHville. So? We’re having another! This time I’ve decided to call it the OMSH Coloring Un-Contest. Why call it an un-contest? Because it is a drawing/giveaway, not a contest.

Of course, artist extraordinaire, SAJ, eased me into her busy schedule and created another coloring sheet of my monthly OMSH(s).

This Surfing OMSH is my hope for a sunny (rain-free) Spring Break and, because it is March after all, includes jammin’ four leaf clover swim trunks on the OMSH-man. Mr. OMSH knows how lucky he is to get OMSH after all. Oh yes, he does.

BTW - the real OMSH would never be caught DEAD in a bikini. Nope, not evah! Ever seen jello? Exactly.

Now that you have that mental picture, let’s move on to more creative pursuits.

Details

Step 1: [Download] the following OMSH March 2008 Coloring Sheet. It is in .pdf format, so if you don’t have the FREE Adobe Reader already installed on your computer, go here to download and install.

2nd OMSH Coloring Un-Contest

Step 2: Have your child(ren) color the sheet and then either take a photo of the colored picture with your child(ren) or, if you don’t want your child(ren)’s photo online, just take a photo or scan in the coloring sheet all by its lonesome.

Step 3: Email the photo or scan to heather [at] ohmystinkinheck [dot] com as an attachment by Midnight (CST) March 20th (3-20-2008), with the age and first name only of your child. The winners will be announced March 24th, 2008.

All photos, like last time, will be uploaded to a special March OMSH flickr set to show off your child’s coloring sheet! Be sure to give only your child(ren)’s first name and age. If you desire a link back to your blog on the flickr description, please specify and send the URL when you send the attachment.

How does your child win?

I will draw names based on three age groups. The groups are divided into the age ranges 1-3, 4-5, and 6-8.

What are the prizes?

Ages 1-3 Winner will receive (1) one copy of Ed Emberley’s Complete Funprint Drawing Book and (1) one package of the Melissa & Doug 6 color stamp pad. Don’t worry Mom…it’s washable ink!

Ed Emberley

Ages 4-5 Winner will receive (1) one copy of Ed Emberley’s Drawing Book: Make a World and (1) one package of 24 ct. Twistable Crayons. (Special thanks to Kim at MommyKnows for turning me on to these!)

Ed Emberley

Ages 6-8 Winner will receive (1) one copy of Ed Emberley’s Drawing Book of Animals and (1) one package of 30 ct. Twistables Colored Pencils.

Ed Emberley

And that’s it!

So here’s the recap.

  • [Download] color page.
  • Let your child(ren) color the color page
  • Take a photo or scan in color page (with or without your child) and send it to me with your child’s first name and age.
  • Wait for the March 24th Drawing

It is THAT EASY!
I can’t wait to see your children’s handiwork!

    Um…this page? It doesn’t exist.

    heh.

Am I too fast for you?

  2. Jessica

    Hi,
The link to download the coloring page isn’t working.
My kids would love to join the contest.

    Thanks
    Jessica

  3. OMSH

Eeeek! Okay, 2nd time is the charm? Maybe? Perhaps?

  4. Mandy

Oh my! A pack of 30 twistables if my 8 YO is chosen. She will fah-lip! Can’t wait to take these home for them to start on. What an awesome contest!

  5. mamalang

Oh my…PB loves those twistables. They are awesome.

I was turned onto the thumbprint book when I used to volunteer with Read A Loud. We would go to different festivals, set up a table with bookmarks in various colors, wipes, pens and ink pads, and the kids could make the different things with thumbs. We had some of them out on sheets for inspiration. I’ve always loved them. I may have to find some of the other books for my kidlins. Maybe those will appear in Easter baskets.

  6. Kater

Oh my gosh, I had TOTALLY forgotten about Ed Emberley’s books! I used to check those out of the library as a kid and practice drawing stuff! So cool. Ok, so even if my kids don’t win, I’m gettin’ those books!

  7. Elaine

The girls are working on it right now. OK, Lily is working on it. Anya is scribbling with a single crayon and yelling “done”!

  8. FireMom

Oh, if only I had a WORKING printer.

  9. Elizabeth

Hunter is suuuuch a little stamper. I just printed it off, yay!

  10. Mrs. Wilson

    I’m on it!

    I love twistables!

And I know what you mean by jello … there’s a reason that I do not wear bikinis either …

  11. Mrs. Wilson

    I’m getting a 404 page …

  12. Mrs. Wilson

See? When you finally say something about something not working … it works!

  13. Shannon

This brought such a smile to my little sick guys face. But he says he’ll do it later, right now the crayon is too heavy. I will never wish Mono on any child, por mother who is forced to take care of that child.

  14. Linda

I am so excited that Lil Man has finally turned the infamous 1 year old and he’s able to join in for the 2nd OMSH coloring contest!!

Alright, Heather of OMSH, you’re going to have to publish a “happy little monster” coloring book, because it’s a Near Hourly thing around here for Madame, our 3yo girly-girl, to request, “Anodder happy monster pitcher, Mamma, ’cause mine got grumpled.”

So, I’ve just printed out copy 643, with instructions to Not Grumple This One. She is a happy girl, drawing purple mustaches on the happy monsters. It may not make it to lunch without being “grumpled” (this usually happens when she gets impatient trying to put it into her art folder, and the edges squash up), but she’s a very cheerful person doing her “happy little monster school” page while the rest of us get set for a math lesson.
